The Lanka Premier League (LPL 2020 ) trying their felicity once again, the first edition of the T20, the tournament is thoroughly ready to be commenced by 14th November. Many delays following the COVID-19 fears restricted the league. The detailed sports scenario was interrupted by the health crisis. The nations are slowly trying to overcome the incurred losses of 5-6 months that held no cricket.
Discussing cricket across the globe, nations have resumed their T20 leagues and international matches as well. The most awaited and cash-rich T20 league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is all set to start by 19th September. Also, Caribbean Premier League (CPL) playing terminating TKR as the trophy declares. Pakistan is also planning their five-years-old T20 tournament, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), in November.
The island country, resuming trying their luck, has decided to commence with the five teams. The five franchises will be representing five cities of the country; Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, Galle, and Dambulla. All the matches held in three venues. Sooriyawewa, Pallekele, and Dambulla, with the semi-finals and final to be played in Pallekele. The Colombo city will not be getting the premium hosting rights amidst its ongoing renovation. It is going to be a super start for them as they have taken many initiatives from the global T20 leagues, CPL, IPL, PSL, Vitality Blast, BBL, and many more. They tried their best to hold the tournament back in 2018 but, it got suspended and scheduled for the next year that did not bring luck either.
With the 93-150 international players, ten top-notched coaches and umpires have been auctioned. Out of 150 overseas contestants, it has decided to induce twenty-four Pakistani players in the first edition of the LPL. On the contrary, Galle Gladiators is the franchise own by Pakistan’s Quetta Gladiators. It develops strong connections between the two boards of the cricket committee and management. Green will be dominating LPL.
Lanka Premier League (LPL) Auctions 24 Pakistani Players
Shahid Afridi, the most known and loved cricketer across the globe, has been auctioned for $60,000 for Galle Gladiators. Shoaib Malik gets a base price of $50,000 whereas Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, and Wahab Riaz will be getting $40,000 each.
Other than that, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Rumman Raees, Umar Gul, and many known players are going part of the newly launched league.
