Sydney Thunder delivered a sensational display when it mattered most as they spurred their hopes for a BBL 10 final with a record-breaking performance in the Sydney Smash against the Sixers. Despite suffering three straight losses, the Thunder drove their way to the highest BBL total ever recorded, which was largely due to Alex Hales’s incredible knock as he swept 110 out of only 56 balls to help his side with an eye-watering 232/5.
Scoreboard pressure was always likely to come to the Sixers, and despite a strong response, they ultimately fell short as the Thunder had a 46-run success, and now they’re going to book their spot in the finals with a win from their final two round-robin matches.
Adelaide Strikers managed to survive in the tournament as Alex Carey’s class assisted his side pick up an essential win over Brisbane Heat, but they’re going to have to back it up with another win in this Sydney Thunder match.
