PAK vs NZ Match Analysis and Review
New Zealand developed some late performances on day five of the 1st test as they finally managed to get the guest team out to win 101 runs and continue their superb form at home and against Pakistan in the cricket test.
As has often been the case in their recent good, they put up a big total when they first bat and then their bowlers backed it up and made it all the more impressive given the fact that Neil Wagner bowled 49 overs despite breaking his toe while beating.
Warner’s going to miss this game, so the Blackcaps have called Matt Henry into the squad, and he seems to be the most solid replacement, and that’s probably the only change to the eleven that won Mount Maunganui.
Pakistan waged a great fight in the first test but ultimately fell short despite Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam’s heroics in the second inning. Even though they were up against it for the vast majority of the game.
They weren’t helped by the poor displays of their two opening batsmen, Shan Masood and Abid Ali, both out for a duck in the second inning. There’s a chance that they’ll give Imran Butt a debut. They will be hoping that star batsmen Babar Azam can prove his fitness after a broken thumb and spent a long time in the nets on Sunday in preparation for this game. Still, his participation will ultimately be decided by the doctor.
