Nadeem Omar, the owner of the franchise that had been succeeded in PSL 4, Quetta Gladiators, has denounced to retain Sarfaraz Ahmad as the captain till the time he would stay and does not leave.
Nadeem in his media talk has put so much confidence in Sarfaraz and is satisfied with him to such an extent that he wants him to remain the captain for the rest of all the upcoming editions of the PSL or at least until as long as Sarfaraz plays.
Nadeem Omar Says Sarfaraz Ahmad to remain Quetta Gladiators Captain
“As long as Sarfaraz Ahmed keeps on playing cricket, he will remain our captain,” Omar was quoted as saying by Daily Jang.
“There are no ambiguities regarding his leadership abilities.”
Nadeem has also said that he wants few matches of PSL 5 to be held at Quetta but it’s unfortunate due to the cold weather conditions at Quetta.
The former Pakistani skipper, Sarfaraz has previously remained as the captain of Quetta Gladiators for multi editions of the league. He led the team to the finals in PSL 4 and then to lift the trophy that his team deserves the better.
A few months back, Sarfaraz Ahmad has been sacked off from his titles of “skipper” from all the formats of cricket and also was eliminated from the squad. Sarfaraz, who returned to domestic cricket after being treated harshly by the management, has got a bit of luck that the owner of Quetta Gladiators has put all of his confidence within him and retained him as the skipper as long as he plays.
However, the PSL this time will be played completely in Pakistan. The league will begin on February 20th, 2020 when the first match between Gladiators and Islamabad United will be played at National Stadium, Karachi followed by an opening ceremony.
